Frequently Asked Questions

What areas besides lips can benefit from the use of dermal fillers?

Nasolabial Folds: creases that resemble parenthesis on either side of the mouth

Smile Lines: lines that run vertically from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth

Marionette Lines: vertical facial wrinkles and folds that form below the corners of the mouth

Vertical Lip Lines: facial wrinkles above and around the lips

What is the difference between the various types of Dermal Fillers used by Eternal Wellness?

Besides varying price points, the differing texture and duration of the various fillers makes them appropriate for a variety of aesthetic applications.

What is the most requested area for dermal fillers?

The obvious answer to this question given the recent popularity and exposure dermal fillers have enjoyed is lips. Lips are the most visible and seem to be the area most recognized and requested. However, we find that clients often contact us to help them resolve heavy lines around their mouth or sagging of the skin on the face. Often, these clients request another service they are familiar with (but is not appropriate for their concerns) or they don’t know what might help them. For individuals who have these concerns we often recommend dermal filler injections to replace volume that has been lost over time. Either as a stand alone treatment, or in combination with other services such as Morpheus8 or Forma.

Why do I need to schedule a consultation first?

During your consult appointment one of our medical providers will discuss your aesthetic goals with you and go over your medical history to make sure that you don’t have any contraindications that would disqualify or delay your treatment. While discussing your aesthetic goals our providers will be thorough in listening to your concerns and goals. We can make suggestions and educate you on your options, but we understand that every client is unique and we want to work within your individual idea of beauty, self-care, and personal comfort. If it’s determined during your consult that you have no contraindications, we can move forward with your treatment on the same day.

Are there risks?

All procedures carry the potential for risks, which will be fully discussed with you during your consultation. Common temporary side effects include swelling and redness as well as possible bruising.

Is filler permanent?

No. Dermal Fillers can last between 1-2 years depending on which type is used and will need to be redone to maintain its effects. Fillers are made from stabilized hyaluronic acid- which your body produces and metabolizes naturally.

Do dermal filler injections hurt?

There can be some discomfort during the injections, however we use prescription strength topical anesthetics prior to your injections to numb the area. Some dermal fillers also contain lidocaine, an injectable anesthetic that immediately and temporarily numbs the injection site similar to a trip to the dentist.

Can filler be reversed?

Absolutely! Juvéderm, and other fillers that are formulated with hyaluronic acid can be reversed with an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. Injecting this enzyme into the treated area dissolves the particles of hyaluronic acid.
